John McQueen received his formal education at York College, Adelphi and Andrews Universities. 

Mr. McQueen has also received the following awards: The Redemption Christian Centers Education Service Award; Brooklyn Borough Presidents Citation; The Washington Times Foundation American Century Award; The Comptroller of the City of New York Commendation; The New York City Council Award among others, for distinguished community leadership..

John is currently the CEO of Family Renaissance, Inc., Director of the Imani Rites of Passage Institute which addresses the interrelated academic and emotional needs of children, and a therapist in private practice. His mission is to develop models for human transformation, emphasizing the transmission of cultural and spiritual heritage to the next generation.
