A not-for-profit Human Resource and Family Support Agency, Family Renaissance, INC., has its roots in a Rites-of-passage program, developed by John McQueen at Brooklyn Faith S.D.A. Church in 1981.

 

By 1993, its not-for-profit 501(C)(3) status was attained and a formal Board of Directors was established. 


MISSION:

To improve the quality of life for at-risk children and their families through education, training,  and mentorship.

 

GOALS:

 

Identify the changing need of families within the community and design programs to meet those needs through advocacy, individual family and group counseling, workshops and seminars.
 

To develop linkages with other agencies in order to help families with vital matters such as education, health, economics, housing, and social services.
 

To avert improper foster care placement.
